Steven Wood joined MORR Transportation Consulting as an Engineering In Training (EIT) in Transportation Engineering on February 27th.
Steven graduated from the department of Civil Engineering at the University of Manitoba in 2014 and is one week away from completing his Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering. His research investigated available options for providing truck loading data, and developed a methodology to aid jurisdictions in evaluating the quality of this data for the purposes of highway asset management. During his time as graduate student, Steven played a key role in the delivery of the following industry projects:
- Developing detailed truck traffic inputs for pavement design practices.
- Management of the Manitoba Highway Traffic Information System (MHTIS), which provides annual traffic statistics for the province.
Steven has presented his work at conferences including the North American Travel Monitoring Exposition and Conference (NATMEC) and the International Conference on Weigh-in-Motion (ICWIM). He has also been an active member of the University of Manitoba Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Student Chapter.
We want to welcome Steven to the MORR team and wish him all the best in his new job!
